USS Park Sutter & Litchfield County Reunion Information

The 45th ANNIVERSARY LST Reunion for former crew members of the USS Park County (LST 1077), the USS Litchfield County (LST 901) and the USS Sutter County (LST 1150) will take place July 21 through July 23, 2011 in Portland, Oregon, with tours to the Columbia River Gorge or along the Oregon Coast. You are welcome to attend all the events, or only the day or days or events you would like.

On Thursday, July 21, 2011, we have two tours reserved to choose from:

GORGE BOUNTY ADVENTURE: $52.00 per person – includes lunch along the bank of the Columbia River in Hood River, Oregon.

7:45 a.m. – 4:00 .m.– Tour bus will pick up at Embassy Suites/Airport and with cameras in hand, you’re off to experience the grandeur of the Columbia River Gorge, to include fantastic rock pinnacles, compelling views from the Vista House and Ladies Forum, walk along the enchanting waterfalls including the 2nd largest waterfall in the U.S., the impressive 542 ft high Multnomah Falls. From here you’ll visit Apple Valley with it’s quaint Country Store & Bakery, then onto the Bonneville Dam & Locks and Fish Hatchery, where you see adult white sturgeon (some reaching over 6 feet) plus much more!!! You will have time to explore, take pictures and shop (tax free!) along the way. Bus will bring you back to the Embassy Suites/Airport.

THIS TOUR INCLUDES: Restroom equipped Luxury Motorcoach Transportation Professional Tour Guide, Narrated Tour, Served lunch in Hood River Inn (Entrée, green salad, rolls & butter, light dessert and coffee or tea) inclusive of gratuity; Bottled water on bus. Customary gratuities for the Tour Guide and Driver are not included, but welcomed.

OR YOU MIGHT ENJOY …

CANNON BEACH/TILLAMOOK COAST TOUR: $39.00 per person (price does not include lunch or gratuity)

8:15 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. – Tour bus pick up at Embassy Suites/Airport. You’ll spend the day at the Scenic Oregon Coast traveling through the Coastal Mountain Range to Cannon Beach. Snapping photos along the way, you’ll explore a 7 mile stretch of beach, visit the many shops and enjoy lunch on your own at one of the eateries that line the streets. You’ll continue along the dramatic Oregon coastline to Tillamook, stopping for scenic turnouts for oooohs and aaahhhs! Visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory and sample their world famous cheese and ice cream and do some no sales tax shopping. Grab a cone for the tour bus ride back through the scenic Wilson River Highway. Lunch will be on your own in Cannon Beach or at the Cheese Factory.

IMPORTANT: We must guarantee minimum of 35 persons/54 maximum per bus for tours to get the special tour pricing. We have the option of a second bus for a 2 bus maximum of 108 persons. RESERVE EARLY to guarantee your spot on one of the tours. Payment for either tour is due no later than May 18, 2011.

MT HOOD RAILROAD BRUNCH—SUNDAY July 24, 2011

Today’s estimated cost is $75 to $90 per person, based on participation. Trip includes transportation to & from the hotel, brunch and a 4 hr ride on a vintage train. The train ride captures the nostalgia of classic America with thousands of view as it travels to the base of Mt. Hood. Transportation to and from is about 1-1/2 hrs both ways. Costs are based on this year’s (2010) and any possible decrease will be based on the number of people we have booked for the excursion. We cannot confirm this excursion until after Jan 1, 2011. Brunch menus are seasonal and will be out to those interested prior to reservations.

Excursion reservations must be finalized to include full payment no later than June 15, 2011. As we get closer to booking reservations, exact amount and remittance will be forwarded to you. We can reserve from 1-160. The more we have booked, the closer we get to the $75 per person costs. When we have amounts confirmed & notification to all, checks for this excursion will be made payable to LST REUNION 2011.

HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS: The code at time of booking is “LST”

We have contracted with Embassy Suites – Portland Airport as our Official Reunion Hotel. The address is 7900 NE 82nd Avenue, Portland, OR 97220. Phone (503) 460-3000. Our group rate is $109.00 plus 12.5% city occupancy tax per night. Rooms will be extended, upon availability, at this rate 3 days prior and

3 days after the reunion events. Included in this group rate at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE to our registered guests, are the following amenities:

*Luxurious, 2 room suites, with a single King or 2 double beds, wet bar/refrigerator, microwave, coffee makers, sofa sleeper, telephones with voicemail, data ports, 2 TVs, hairdryer & irons with full sized ironing board. (Have a “buddy” you want to spend extra time with? Book room together and split the costs! Save a few bucks for one of the tours or that special souvenier.)

*Full cooked-to-order breakfast served each morning in the garden atrium from 6:30-9:30 am.

*Two-hour hosted Manager’s Reception each evening in the atrium bar includes hors de oeuvres from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.

*Free parking and 24 hour Complimentary airport shuttle.

*Free shuttle service to and from the MAX Light Rail System for service to downtown Portland. The light rail is a very convenient way to tour the city at a cost of about $5 for a day pass. You can enjoy the City of Roses without the hassle of a rental car and traffic!

*Free hotel shuttle service to and from 800,000 square foot Cascade Crossing Shopping Center (about 1 mile from hotel).

You may book your room accommodations as early as Sept 30, 2010. All reservations must be booked no later than June 17, 2011. Reservations received after this cut-off date will be subject to rate and space availability. Please make sure your room reservations are secured prior to this cut off date. By booking early, we can locate additional lodging should we exceed the number of rooms currently reserved.

We are currently arranging for alternate hotel in the event that reserved rooms at the Embassy Suites are completely booked. Information to follow.
